A CHIPPENHAM woman has come up with an app to help busy people organise their lives.

Catherine Donovan, 43, said: “I worked as a solicitor and my husband works full time in his business fitting kitchens and bathrooms.

"We were running around after our three girls and it was too much.

"I left work to simplify our lives and get some quality of life but found I was still chasing my tail.”

She said the app Home Counts was born out of a need to get organised and is free to download and available on iPhone and Android.

She said: "Home Counts helps you organise your entire home from the housework, gardening, vehicle maintenance, food shopping, meal planning, childcare and so on.

"You can add up to six family members to the app and assign tasks to various people.

"For every task completed rewards are given to help encourage those in the home to complete their tasks - very useful with children."

The mother of three is a dual qualified solicitor in Uganda and Britain specialising in personal injury and constitutional law as well as having studied for an MBA at the Edinburgh Business School.

Mrs Donovan said: "I'm now working on planning phase two of the development of the app based around some of the suggestions from our customers, with more hacks on making things simpler and easier, so we will see."

And she remains a busy parent assisting with her husband's paperwork for his business M D Home Solutions as well as volunteering as a foundation school governor.

She is also a leader at her local church and she runs a charity looking after orphans and widows in Uganda.
