Lots of people say its their dream job to run a pub.

Now 50 people will get the chance to do that on Monday at four pubs - although a different sort of running.

The athletes, if that’s the right word, will be making a high speed pub crawl of Wanborough, running a two mile course around the village with compulsory refreshment stops - at five of the village’s pubs.

The race starts at the Brewers’ Arms in the High Street, and takes in The Cross Keys, the New Calley Arms, the Plough Inn and Harrow Inn before returning to the finish line at the Brewers’ Arms.

Mike Kent, on of the organisers said: “All entries are now full, we have 50 runners which is the maximum

“This is the 63rd running of the beer run, and it’s always really popular.”

Landlady of the Harrow Inn, Michelle Rostami is one of the publican who will be laying out the half pints for the thirsty runners.

She said:”It’s a great village event and good to have one with pubs at its heart, as pubs have been the centre of villages for centuries.”

Registration starts at 11am with the runners setting off at 12.30pm on Monday.
