MALMESBURY League of Friends (MLOF) has presented the Malmesbury outpatients physiotherapy department at the Malmesbury Primary Care Centre (MPCC) with new equipment costing just under £5,000.

The new physiotherapy equipment, which includes two exercise bicycles, one rowing machine, a set of rubber coated dumbbells with storage rack, and a weights exercise bench, will enable the department to offer improved facilities to MPCC patients . The department provides around 850 treatment sessions and assesses some 300 patient referrals each month.

John Cooper, the Physiotherapy Team Leader, said: “We are extremely grateful to MLOF for their generous donation, which will enable us to offer improved treatments to an ever-growing number of patients, covering a broad range of medical conditions.”

David Hide, MLOF chairman, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support this request, which will enable more patients who need these treatments to benefit from them and more quickly.”

MLOF provides funds to help local people with specific medical needs, which are not available from other sources. For details visit mlof.co.uk
