A Pewsey drama group will be playing it for laughs when it staged Black Comedy at the Bouverie Hall.

The cast from Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society will hope its production will be a sell out from June 20 to 22.

A group spokesman said: "An all-out farce breaks out during a power cut in the flat of struggling sculptor Brindsley Miller (Chris Smith), who with the help of his fiancée, Carol (Anna Gent) is aiming to impress Carol's bombastic father, Colonel Melkett (Rob Bottoms) and millionaire Georg Bamberger.

"Without permission, they have borrowed the furniture and effects of their fussy neighbour, Harold (Steve Clements), to make their own flat more presentable. When the power fails, and Harold returns unexpectedly early, chaos ensues."
