PUPILS at Holbrook Primary School were delighted to be a part of the official opening of their outdoor stage in the school playground on Wednesday (June 12) morning.

The stage was a project of the school's PTA who have been holding movie nights, school discos, ice cream Fridays and many other fundraising events in order raise enough money to have the stage build over the May half term.

The pupils put the stage to good use at the opening and performed their daily wake up and shake up dance routine.

The mayor of Trowbridge David Cavill attended the official opening and spokes about the importance of performance in schools.

He said: "I am sure all of you pupils will use the stage at some point, whether it is to eat your sandwiches of perform to your friends. Children all around the country love to perform and it is something I can see you at Holbrook also love."

Staff and pupils gave a round of applause for the PTA.
