A FISHERMAN was said to have been thrown into a lake in what police branded a “frightening attack”.
The angler was punched and then sent flying into the lake as he fished in Abbey Grounds, Cirencester, at around 3pm on Tuesday, Cotswolds Police said.
A 35-year-old Cirencester man was arrested last night on suspicion of assault. He remains in police custody.

On Twitter, police appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
