SOUTH Swindon MP Robert Buckland visited the Wyvern Tavern in Swindon to mark its official re-opening.
The town centre pub completed a major £200,000 investment that transformed the venue inside and out over two weeks.
During his visit, Mr Buckland met general manager Peter Sadler and area manager Luke Jones.
The pair gave him a tour of the venue and learnt about Stonegate’s apprenticeships, training and development schemes.
Mr Buckland said: “I am very impressed with how Stonegate makes each pub individual and unique.
“I believe it helps create a better community feel.
“I think that this pub has a lot to offer to the town centre area in Swindon and I look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength.”
The pub opened earlier this month on the day of the Champions League final and punters packed the place to watch the match.
Peter Sadler said: "It's great to regenerate this part of town. Yates was great but it had its time and I was very interested to see how the pub would change. This new look is more in-keeping with the town, we tried our best to make it as comfortable and welcoming as possible for everybody and it looks really good.
"We just want to make it one of the best places to eat and drink in the town centre, it's as simple as that."
