The Cotton Traders outlet will create six new retail jobs for the area when the new shop inside the Swindon Garden Centre on Hyde Road launches on Saturday morning.

CEO Nick Hamblin, said: “We are delighted to be opening a store in Swindon and to be bringing a new and extended fashion offering to the area.

"Cotton Traders brings the very best of British style with a focus on quality and comfort, and we hope that those visiting the store have a lovely experience."

The TWIGS Community Gardens charity has teamed up with Cotton Traders and will be on hand as guests of honour to officially open the store at 11am.

The retailer will present the TWIGS team with a cheque for £500 to help them continue their therapeutic work and provide a safe space for people with mental health problems to learn new skills and regain confidence.

,Mr Hamblin added: “We are also thrilled to have TWIGS joining us to open our store on Saturday.

"We are very keen to support fantastic local charities like TWIGS.

"We hope that we are able to help them to continue to make a big difference within the local area and make Swindon a more vibrant and brighter place.”

The community gardens' next open day is on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

Cotton Traders will join Pets Corner Stratton, Costa Coffee and Maidenhead Aquatics as part of the Swindon Garden Centre complex.

The garden centre rebranded and reopened earlier this month after its former owners Wyevale sold off the store and Dobbies snapped it up to become the largest garden centre chain in Europe.

The transition was smooth, as the centre stayed open throughout the change, all staff were kept on and the old membership card scheme was replaced with a similar one.

Cotton Traders will celebrate its opening day by giving the first 20 shoppers through the doors on Saturday a free Cotton Traders goody bag worth £22.

Those shopping in-store this weekend will get £5 off when spending more thaan £30.
