MONTY Python classic Spamalot will be on stage at St Mary's Church, Devizes from June 25 to 29 at 7.30pm.

King Arthur and his band of misfit knights encounter killer rabbits, dancing nuns and ferocious Frenchmen as they search for the elusive Holy Grail in this hilarious caper.

Based on the highly successful 1970s film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot was written by Python star Eric Idle with musical score by John DuPrez, including the comedy classic Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.

The hit show, which won the 2005 Tony Award for best new musical, is being brought to Devizes by The Invitation Theatre Company, known as TITCO, and it’s their tenth production. The singing, the dancing, the setting, it's all going to be a night to remember, as it will be top drawer entertainment.

Director Jemma Brown said: “As ever, turning the historic St Mary’s Church into a theatre is quite a task, but for a show like this it’s worth it.

“We’re doing the whole thing to full cinematic tracks, rather than using a band, so the sound experience for our audiences will be fantastic.

“The cast and crew are working flat out to bring one of the funniest comedy musicals to our many loyal supporters in Wiltshire. It has been a joy to direct and it just shouldn't be missed - you will have a great night out.”

With a bar from local brewery, Stealth Brewery and doors opening at 6.30pm, the night is set to be fantastic. And if you dress up as a knight, for that added bit of fun as with all TITCO shows, you get your first drink for free.

Tickets priced £8, £12 and £15 are available from Devizes Books in Sidmouth Street or titco.org.uk
