VOLUNTEERS have been praised for raising £25,000 for the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group over the past year.
Members of the charity’s Trowbridge branch organised a number of activities during the last year to raise money for essential equipment for cancer patients at Bath’s RUH.
They were presented with a certificate of appreciation by the BCUSG for their fundraising efforts.
The volunteers ran the Christmas wishing tree and charity bric-a-brac shop in Castle Place Shopping Centre which alone raised £8,700. More than 30 volunteers also took part in ten store collections which raised a further £3,899 for the charity.
Marie Brichard-Parsons, treasurer of the charity’s Trowbridge fundraising committee, said: “We would like to thank all our volunteers and local shoppers for their tremendous support and generosity. Their efforts will make a very real difference to the outcomes of patients."
