AN organisation which helps young people start their own businesses and become successful entrepreneurs, held its sixth annual Young Talent Market over the weekend.

GOFISH held its event outside Tesco Extra, Trowbridge where there were gazebos filled with handmade artwork, wood turning, children’s accessories and more as well as live music throughout the whole day by local young musicians.

Stallholders aged between 14-30 were invited to have a stall free of charge, giving them an opportunity to practise selling whilst learning about marketing, networking, customer service and other aspects of running a small business.

As well as supporting the budding entrepreneurs, there was a raffle raising money for the Mayor of Trowbridge’s chosen charity Ruksak, who aim to combat childhood poverty by providing backpacks filled with essential items donated by the public.

The young entrepreneurs helped sell raffle tickets, raising a total of £87 for the charity.

Ruksak founder Rory Donaldson said: "The kindness of Trowbridge people is amazing. On behalf of Ruksak thank you to those who made today possible, The GOFISH Team are an amazing bunch of people."

David Baker GOFISH Coordinator said: “Once again the young people of Trowbridge and our local towns have proved how positive and supportive they are. We all had a great time, that's what it's all about as well as learning new skills and knowledge.

"Some of our new stallholders are very interested in joining our monthly young entrepreneur club in the community room at Tesco, and later in the year we will be having our annual celebration event to announce our mystery shopper winner from the market and the apetito Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.”
