Former horse racing pundit John McCririck has died at the age of 79.
His death was reported in a tweet by the Racing Post, which read: "Sad to report that legendary racing broadcaster John McCririck has died at the age of 79."
He was the face of Channel 4 racing for almost three decades but was dropped by the broadcaster in 2012.
John, also a former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, told the Daily Mail last year that "life is empty" away from the cameras and shocked viewers on ITV's This Morning with his extreme weight loss.
