Landlocked Swindon will see a little part of the Riviera return to town when its urban beach comes back for a second year.
The beach which will see Wharf Green covered with sand and deckchairs will be open from August 1 to 8 - kicking off a month long Town Centre Summer Festival.
Organised by inSwindon BID the beach will be free to visit from 10am to 5pm daily and feature daily activities, including a sand art workshop, family beach Olympics Punch and Judy shows, beach aerobics and fitness sessions and a family beach party.
Chief executive of inSwindon BID , Di Powell said: “After the success of last year’s urban beach we are thrilled to be growing this event and providing a whole programme of activity for everyone to enjoy across the Summer holidays. We feel it’s a chance for the whole family to get together this Summer and experience something unique and family friendly right on their doorstep, whilst taking advantage of being able to shop, grab a drink or a bite to eat.”
