A SET of guest cottages in Chippenham are serving up some Wimbledon fever to their guests.
The cottages’ ace hard surface court has been repainted to mark the UK’s biggest tennis competition.
Battens Farm is one of very few Bed and Breakfasts across the country that provides a tennis court for customers.
A list of 10 B&Bs with tennis facilities in the UK ahead of Wimbledon was put together by eviivo.
Mike Hawker, who runs the farm, explained that the court has had its lines repainted, and is very well-kept.
He said: “When Wimbledon is on, every guest wants to play tennis.
“I would say it is a ten fold increase from the rest of the year.
“As well as the court, guests enjoy the novelty of staying on a farm, something that isn’t widely available anymore.
“We have guests come from Australia, China, South Africa and Japan, a lot of them come back as well.”
Battens Farm provides racquets and balls for guests at its smashing location on a working farm.
Residents have access to the produce from livestock at the farm and is often used in the breakfasts that are served.
As well as providing a tennis court for guests, the cottages also provide bikes to explore the area around them, such as Westonbirt Arboretum or Lacock Abbey.
