A CORONER has ruled that a house fire which claimed the life of a Trowbridge woman was a deliberate act as her death is ruled as an unlawful killing.
Today Salisbury Coroner’s Court heard how Agnieszka Swierczynska-Jaros, 37, died at Morriston Hospital in Swansea on January 29 last year, after being critically injured in a fire at her four-bedroomed home in Frome Road, Trowbridge, on January 13 2018.
Police went on to launch a murder investigation and made several arrests although no one has been charged.
However, after hearing evidence over the past two days, a coroner declared he was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the fire was started deliberately.
The court also heard Ms Swierczynska-Jaros died as a result of multiple organ failure due to smoke inhalation.
