MP Claire Perry has denied she was fired from her position as Energy Minister as she says she gave up the role to become president of COP26.
Boris Johnson rearranged his cabinet and has given her the new role, which she says she agreed to.
The new position will involve shepherding countries towards agreement at the UN climate negotiations.
On Twitter, she commented: "Delighted to accept new PM’s offer to become COP26 President, working closely with him but in order to do the job properly I suggested that I relinquish the broader Clean Growth and Energy portfolio and he has agreed."
