A TOTAL of 15 vehicles were stopped last night in Swindon as part of a police operation aiming to target drink drivers.
And two people were arrested on suspicion of drink driving after officers conducted breath tests.
One of these drivers, a 17-year old local man, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. He is currently in custody in Gablecross.
The other man arrested has since been released with no further action but was given strong words of advice.
Acting Sgt James Rodrigues, who led the operation said: “During this operation, several drivers that were stopped were under the influence of alcohol but remained under the legal limit when required to carry out a breath test and were therefore given strong words of advice.
“I’d like to remind drivers of the dangers of drink driving and to stress that the safest option is to not drink at all – there are no shortcuts for sobering up.”
Anyone who suspects someone is drink driving should call Wiltshire Police on 101.
