A PARTIAL closure notice on a house in the Railway Village has been extended by three months after the arrest of a woman who breached the original order.

Jade Curtis, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with remaining or entering a premises in contravention of a closure notice and appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court today.

The case will now go to Swindon Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

The closure notice was initially put in place in the property in Faringdon Road due to continuing concerns that the householder was being cuckooed by a County Lines drugs gang.

It meant that anyone other than the occupier named on the notice was banned from entering the property.

It has now been extended for three months by Swindon Magistrates.

PC Paul Bezzant said: “We are continuing to work with our partners at Swindon Borough Council for a long-term solution to safeguard the occupant, but in the interim, this extension allows us to also protect the wider community from the associated anti-social behaviour.

“To date, this order has been extremely effective, with yesterday’s breach being the only known breach of the order.

“We will continue to effectively use these court orders to protect vulnerable people, as well as provide reassure to our communities.”
