The Ashton Common Car Boot Sale has now collected a total just over £70,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The car boot sale is located just off the A350 at the lights of Stony Gutter. Ashton Common and runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday through from Spring to the end of October.
The boot sale has raised the total by not charging its stall holders a set fee like other sales, but asking them to make donation to Cancer Research UK instead.
Mark La Turner one of the car boot organisers said: "We’re really pleased and immensely proud to have reached this fantastic total. A lot of work has been put in to get us here, especially from the collection team.
"We get great support from our local Cancer Research UK and the surrounding community, and that has translated into this tremendous collected amount. Now we’re looking forward to the £100,000 barrier getting broken.”
