POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Trowbridge.

Between 6am and 6.15am on Sunday August 11, a 24-year-old man was in the Broad Street/Upper Broad Street area when he was approached by a man who threw him to the ground and searched through his pockets.

The victim managed to push the offender away and run away from the scene. He was left shaken up and bleeding from his knee and elbow following the incident.

The offender is described as black, wearing a black puffer jacket type coat.

Officers investigating the incident have arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of attempted robbery. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
