A NEW website hopes to bring more tourists into town by showing off a range of Swindon’s famous attractions and hidden gems.

Old Town-based design agency Jazzbones Creative partnered with Reuben Digital, Swindon Borough Council and the Switch On To Swindon initiative to encourage locals and daytrippers alike to Visit Swindon.

The team wants web users to suggest upcoming events, favourite hotspots and helpful information to guide people who have never visited the town before.

Jazzbones founder and creative director Nathan Sandhu said: “Over the last few years we have worked on a number of exciting projects with the council and Switch On To Swindon.

“In many ways, the website is the culmination of that fulfilling journey.

“Jazzbones works with high-profile clients throughout the UK but nothing gives us more pleasure than projects that raise Swindon’s profile.

“Every one of our design team was born, bred and lives in Swindon, so the Visit Swindon project is a real labour of love.”

The site showcases popular destinations like the Steam Museum, designer outlet and Lydiard Park along with lesser-known treats like the Richard Jefferies Museum and the Rockstar Climbing Centre.

Jazzbones creative lead Mitchell Nelson said: “It shows what Swindon can offer, with sites that are known to locals but not further afield. There are exciting things in the pipeline and this was a good opportunity to build on that as the town grows.

"Swindon is in close proximity to so many amazing historical areas, the food culture here is quite exciting with several independent eateries that we promote every Friday.

"We have beautiful parks and green spaces here that other big towns don't have, and there are lots of photographers keen to share snaps of hidden beauty spots."

Coun Oliver Donachie said: “I’m thrilled to see our new, improved tourism website. We know Swindon attracts many business visitors in the week and the town’s well-known attractions are popular with visitors and day-trippers.

“We want the site to encourage people to extend their stay and come back again to see what else Swindon has to offer.”
