DOCTOR Florrie Saddler has raised £6,700 in memory of her mother who would have celebrated her 60th birthday this year if she had not been struck down by cancer.

Ali Saddler died aged 54 in 2013 and her daughter, who still lives in Marlborough where she grew up, was determined to raise cash for cancer research.

She and a team of friends and and families got on their bike outside the Cancer Research shop in Marlborough High Street and cycled just over 550 miles to her mum's favourite spot of Majoreau in France arriving on Saturday.

Florrie said: "Majoreau in the south of France was mummy's favourite place in the world and it is one of the last places we visited together. We look back on this time all together with such special memories.

For everyone that knew my mummy or anyone who has heard about her they would know she was amazing at bringing people together, making special memories and having fun.

She had so much more to give in life and was so special to so many people. She is missed every single day and I would be so grateful if you could help me raised money to help beat cancer in her honour."
