POTTERNE Cricket Club, near Devizes, is hoping there will be special reason to sink a few pints on Sunday when it holds a fundraising beer festival.
If all goes well the club’s first team will have been named champions of the West Of England Premier League - League One.
Chairman Fred Kerley said: “We are almost there. We only need a couple of points from Saturday’s game and we will be champions. It will be a remarkable achievement.”
There are still a few tickets left for the beet festival where 30 beers and six ciders will be on offer along with entertainment by seven bands.
