Swindon Magistrates Court
AN ARREST warrant has been issued for a trainee probation officer accused of conning the National Probation Service out of more than £5,000.
Magistrates issued the warrant without bail for Martins Orobato after the 28-year-old failed to appear before the Swindon court to answer a charge of fraud by abuse of position.
Orobato, of Bennett Crescent, Oxford, is said to have been working as a trainee probation officer in the city when it is claimed he defrauded the National Probation Service out of £5,042.26. The charge relates to a period between June 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.
The prosecution has been brought by Thames Valley Police.
