A flag hoisting ceremony is to be held at Devizes Town Hall on September 3 to mark Merchant Navy Day.
The town council is supporting the Seafarers UK campaign to raise awareness of the UK’s dependence on members of the Merchant Navy.
A Red Ensign - the official flag of the Merchant Navy - will be hoisted at 11am - to mark the special day.
Town councillors will join in the celebration to mark the occasion and show the council’s support for the work of the Merchant Navy.
In previous years the flag has been hoisted in Hillworth Park, Devizes.
