POLICE officers were called to an attempted robbery in broad day light at Bradley Road, Trowbridge yesterday afternoon.

Officers searched the area on foot and with police dogs but did not find the suspect.

Neighbours witnessed the break in through a side window in the middle of the afternoon.

It is not thought anything was stolen from the house during the break in.

A police spokesman said: “At approximately 3.40pm yesterday, we were called to a report of a suspected break in at an address in Bradley Road, Trowbridge.

“A man had been seen climbing through a window of the address.

“When disturbed by the homeowner, he ran off.

“Officers attended and carried out an area search but the suspect was not located.

“It is not believed anything was stolen from the address but the window had been forced open with a tool.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190083237.”
