STRATTON: Jacob Elliott-Latham, 20, of Ermin Street, was fined and given eight points on his licence for driving a dirt bike without due care and attention or insurance and failing to stop for police on Falkirk Road.

He was fined £507 and ordered to pay £135 in costs and surcharge.

SWINDON: Mohammed Iqbal, 25, of Dobbin Drive, Rochdale, was fined £660 and given six points on his licence, for permitting another to drive a Ford Transit on Ramleaze Drive, Swindon, without insurance.

He was also told to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The case was proved in his absence.

OLD TOWN: Tanya Macleod, 41, of Bath Road, was fined £660 and given six points on her licence for driving a Rover 75 on Great Western Way without insurance or a licence.

The case was proved in her absence.

PARK NORTH: Christopher Postans, 47, of Kingswood Avenue, was fined £233 and told to pay £115 in costs and surcharge for driving without due care and attention. His licence was endorsed with five penalty points.

The case was proved in Postans’ absence.

SWINDON: Daniel Hegarty, 28, of Addison Crescent, Upper Stratton, will stand trial for allegedly assaulting a man in Calne on Christmas Day last year, taking a black Seat Ibiza without the owner’s consent, driving it without insurance and failing to provide a breath specimen.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, Hegarty pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was granted unconditional bail and the trial date was set for November 14.

BISHOPSTONE: James French, 35, of The Wyncies, Bishopstone, was fined £200 and given a 12-month driving ban after admitted a charge of driving while unfit through drugs. French was behind the wheel of a VW Touran when he was stopped on Trowbridge Close, Swindon, on February 9. He must pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

GRANGE PARK: Darren James, 30, of Holbein Court, has lost his licence after admitting drug driving and cannabis possession.

The Renault Megane driver was found to have the equivalent of 17.5 microgrammes of cannabis ingredient THC in a litre of blood on April 11. Stopped a day later, he had 13 microgrammes of THC and 70 microgrammes of cocaine derivative benzoylecgonine in his blood. The legal limits are two microgrammes and 50 microgrammes respectively.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of drug driving and two counts of cannabis possession.

James was fined a total of £570 and ordered to pay £100 in costs and surcharge. He was also banned from driving for two years.

BLUNSDON: Craig McDonald, 49, of Truscott Avenue, admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He was behind the wheel of a Kia Sportage when he hit another car in the West Swindon Aldi car park on April 6.

He was fined £249, given six points on his licence and told to pay £115 in costs and surcharge.

CHIPPENHAM: Thomas Perry, 55, of Loyalty Street, admitted drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Tests showed the Land Rover driver was over twice the drink-drive limit when he got behind the wheel of his 4x4 in Loyalty Street, Chippenham, on August 10. On the same date, he had failed to stop at the scene of an accident in Acton Turville, Gloucestershire, where a Fiat had been damaged.

Perry was ordered to do 175 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for 20 months, fined £392 and ordered to pay £175 in costs and surcharge.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Thomas Smith, 29, of Saffron Close, Wootton Bassett, pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the alcohol limit.

He was found to have 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath after he was stopped in Hoopers Place, Old Town, on August 10. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates fined him £456 and banned him from driving for 20 months.

TROWBRIDGE: Robert Booth, 58, of Kenwood, Gloucestershire, was fined £80 for attempting to steal alcohol from Tesco in Trowbridge. He must also pay £65 in costs and surcharge.
