With the closure of Ed's Easy Diner at the Outlet Village, we asked on Facebook what our readers would like to take its place.

A lot of alternatives were thrown up, with one of the most popular being Five Guys.

The American restaurant chain currently has 99 restaurants across the UK with the nearest to Swindon being in Cheltenham.

On Facebook, Abbie Carmichael said: "This would be good for my stomach but not for my bank account."

A number of other readers expressed their interest with Natalie Simonis saying: "Fingers crossed for a Five Guys." and Chloe-Louise Toomey saying: "A Five Guys would be so much better."

However, some readers were offering up alternatives such as a new Burger King, suggested by Chris Hoskin, or another Greggs, suggested by Julie Cook.

With the keen interest on a new Five Guys store, we reached out to McArthurGlen, the owners of the Outlet Village, and asked if they could confirm or deny a new store. We also reached out to Five Guys with the same question.

The response we had back from McArthurGlen refused to rule out the possibility and instead told us that the Adver should continue having a conversation with Five Guys. They are yet to reply.
