A MAN in his 80s had to be taken to hospital after a crash in Wroughton.
Police, fire and ambulance crews raced to Barrett Way yesterday afternoon after receiving reports of a road traffic collision near the Ellendune Community Centre.
A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to Barrett Way, in Wroughton, at around 4.45pm yesterday following a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
"It involved a Ford Focus and a VW Tiguan.
"The driver of the Ford, a man in his 80s, is believed to have suffered a medical episode and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"No-one was injured as a result of the collision."
The fire service was called by the police because it was thought that people were trapped in the vehicles but upon arrival, firefighters' services were not needed.
