A UNIQUE Trowbridge group has been overwhelmed with requests for help as children go back to school - because the rucksack gift packs they provide are filled with just the sort of items, from clothes to pencilcases, which many families simply cannot afford.

Rory Donaldson, co-founder of ruksak45218, said: "We have had people coming to us in tears, wat we are seeing at the moment, judging by the amount of calls and emails, is that there are so many families across Wiltshire that are not coping with being able to provide the essential items for the young persons in their care, there has been a massive request for coats, shoes, underwear, of all sizes and ages."

218.

Ruksak45218 exists to provide a rucksack of essential items, for youngsters aged five to 18 in Wiltshire. These can include toiletries, rucksacks, sportswear, sports equipment, school and home clothing, coats, shoes, trainers and bedding, anything that will provide for a young person, so that they are not missing out on items, that many of us take for granted.

Ruksak45218 work on a referral basis and are working with the Trowbridge Mayor, TCAF, Wiltshire Council, Housing Associations, Trowbridge Lions and other partners, to help local families.

If you can help, donate items by taking them to Unit 19 Dunkirk Business Park, Frome Road, Southwick, Trowbridge, where items can be dropped off Mon to Fri (9.30am till 2pm), go online at www.ruksak45218.org.uk or email info@ruksak45218.org.uk
