The Wharf Theatre in Devizes, is starting off its first show of the season with a 19th Century Classic.

The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, adapted for stage by Ken Whitmore, is one of the most famous ghost stories in the English Language.

Set in a huge remote manor house in Bly, Miss Grey is hired by a man who has become responsible for his niece and nephew after their parents have died. As he is uninterested in raising them, she has the responsibility of looking after the orphaned siblings, Miles, 10 and Flora, 8, as their governess.

But not all is as it seems, when she discovers a dark secret involving supernatural ghosts of the former valet and governess. Despite fearing for her life and questioning her sanity, she has to fight to protect the children.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £10 for under 16’s. This is starting on Monday 23 (Sep) at 7.30pm  until Saturday 28 (Sep).

Being shown next month, is An Audience with John Callis. The comedy actor will share some personal experiences and stories from his career.

For one night only, the national treasure will be discussing other names he has worked with and his TV appearances.

Mr Challis will also be giving people the chance to meet him for autographs and pictures.
