A VILLAGE primary near Devizes is to take part in The Big Soup Share on Saturday as part of a campaign that promotes school gardening.
Bishops Cannings School will be serving free soup at 12.30pm using vegetables grown, harvested and cooked by pupils with a little help of staff.
Head Catherine Vardy said: “Gardening is a fantastic way of bringing the curriculum alive. It also helps to get our young people outdoors in the fresh air to improve their health and wellbeing. “It really is a whole school project.”
Children will also decorate the school hall ready for the community meal.
