A PACKED charity breakfast at the Tex-Mex restaurant Chiquito in Trowbridge has raised more than £1,300 for the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG).

Customers wore Mexican sombreros as they tucked into breakfast burritos and pancakes at the restaurant in St Stephen’s Place. There was also a raffle in aid of the BCUSG, which provides essential medical equipment for cancer patients at Bath’s Royal United Hospital (RUH).

More than 80 people attended the breakfast and raffle prizes were donated by Chiquito, which also provided the breakfast food for free in return for a donation to the charity, and other businesses in St Stephen’s Place and Castle Place Shopping Centre.

This was the latest fundraising event organised by Chiquito staff in aid of the charity. They previously ran a food stall in Trowbridge Park during this year’s Armed Forces Day which raised £500 for the BCUSG.

The charity’s chairman Mike Taylor said: “We would like to say a big thank you to the staff and customers at Chiquito in Trowbridge. Thanks to their fantastic fundraising efforts and generosity, and the support of other local businesses, we are able to buy essential equipment for the cancer unit at the RUH, which treats patients from across North and West Wiltshire.”
