The best way to describe Beat the Street is that it’s Pokemon Go but without the drained phone battery (and the Pokemon).

One day, when the weather didn’t look like it was going to cause some wet feet, I took on the game on the way to work.

Covering a grand total of three miles from home to work I picked up 60 points travelling to seven boxes.

With 10 points per box, you may be wondering why I was missing the extra 10 points. The simple answer is that the first is your starting point and you don't get them.

The one issue we had was locating one box on the way.

According to the Google maps overlay you can grab from the website, there should have been a Beat Box on Frobisher Drive.

I couldn’t find this box and spent a bit too long trying to hunt it down – unsuccessfully.

Overall, seven boxes were conquered in three miles and one hour.

The 60 points I gained were donated to Lawn Primary.

The game does exactly what it says on the tin, you go out and tap your card on to the box and gain some points. The team with the most points at the end will win a prize of £200 in vouchers and a trophy.
