A MAN in his 20's was left with concussion and had his car stolen by the driver of a Citroen who had followed him from Westbury to Frome.

Officers investigating a robbery are appealing for witnesses to the incident to urgently come forward and speak to police.

The incident happened at 4am on Tuesday 27 August. A 20-year-old man driving a black Volkswagen Polo was chased by another driver in a light blue Citroen C3 in White Horse Hill, Westbury.

The victim was followed from Westbury to Long Ground in Frome, where the driver of the Polo was then assaulted by the occupants of the Citroen leaving him concussed and his car was then stolen. The victim sought help from a resident nearby, who gave him a lift home.

Investigator Gary Fox said: “This was a violent and frightening incident and we are conducting a number of enquiries as part of our investigation.

“While we have made one arrest, enquiries continue and we need to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident in Frome, or anyone who may have seen either vehicle between Westbury and Frome, who may be able to help with our enquiries.

“We would also really like to speak to the kind member of the public who came to the aid of the victim following the incident.”
