A PROFESSIONAL salon that supports Swindon College students is celebrating its second anniversary - and is managed by a successful former student.

The Salon opened in 2017 when beauty entrepreneur Eve Taylor OBE cut the ribbon.

It aimed to give students complete hair and beauty courses while gaining real-life industry experience in a professional workplace before they qualified.

Former student Hollie Sumbler left the college 17 years ago after achieving Levels 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy, then going on to work as deputy manager at a London salon.

After building up a long list of clients, she returned to Swindon to become manager of the salon at her old college.

She said: “The facilities are beautiful here and we have a fantastic range of treatments, there’s something for everyone.

“I want this to continue to grow and become our clients’ happy place to go to where they can relax and let their worries disappear whilst they receive a first class service - you can see how much that means to our customers.”

“The reason we have been very successful is because we go that extra mile with our services and personal attention to their customers.

“I have used what I have learned and my experiences to create an inclusive atmosphere here.

“It’s a unique salon with a huge space that is divided into different treatment sections which gives the customers a variety of options to choose from.”

Its 2017 launch had high-profile guests including Amanda Sawyer from the Good Salon Guide, Tim Taylor of IPL machine supplier Lynton Lasers, and Jan Hosaka from Ellisons, a long-standing supplier of hair and beauty products to the college.
