A WOMAN was so shocked when she found burglars had ransacked her home she had to be admitted to hospital, police said.
She was taken to Swindon's Great Western Hospital for treatment.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesman said: "It is believed the victim's condition was brought on by the shock of discovering her house on Oaksey Road, Poole Keynes, had been ransacked and thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen.
"Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has information to come forward."
The burglars are believed to have struck between lunchtime and 8pm on Friday, October 18.
Poole Keynes is a village around seven miles west of Cricklade.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the village on Friday afternoon is asked to call police on 101.
