Greenbridge is set to have another empty unit by the end of next month.

Carpetright at the retail park on Stratton Road is to close its doors on November 22.

A spokeswoman for the carpet seller said: "We would like to thank our customers for the support they have shown us over the years and we hope they will continue to shop at our flagship store at the Bridgemead Retail Park nearby.

LISTED: Swindon's store closures in 2019

"Unfortunately, due to rent and business rate costs, it is no longer feasible for Carpetright to retain two stores in the town, we will endeavour to relocate colleagues where possible."

Carpetright could not say how many jobs would be at risk with this closure.

The loss comes at a time where things seemed to be on the up for Greenbridge, with the recent announcement of a 24-hour gym and the imminent arrival of a Smyths toy store.
