WILTSHIRE'S MPs last night voted to take the UK out of the European Union as the Prime Minister paused the Withdrawal Agreement Bill to wait for an EU response on his request for an extension to the October 31 deadline.
James Gray (North Wiltshire), Dr Andrew Murrison (South West Wiltshire), Michelle Donelan (Chippenham) and Claire Perry (Devizes) all voted with the Government.
MPs voted for the Withdrawal Agreement Bill to take the UK out of the EU, ending a series of defeats for the government on Brexit.
The first vote on Boris Johnson's bill passed by 329 to 299 but he failed to get approval for the swift 72-hour timetable that would have allowed it to pass through the House of Commons by Thursday.
The government lost the timetable vote by 308 to 322.
The Prime Minister said he would now “pause the Bill” to see whether EU leaders would grant an extension - if this is not allowed, the UK could find itself bound by previous votes to leave the EU on October 31 with No Deal.
