A POSTER has been made by Wiltshire Police for those who would rather not be visited by trick or treaters tonight.
It can be downloaded from the police website.
A police spokesman said: "Halloween can be a fun time, however not everyone wishes to celebrate it.
"Unexpected callers at the door can be frightening and cause distress for some people, particularly the vulnerable or elderly.
"For people who do not want to receive 'trick or treat' callers, a poster has been produced displaying in large font 'Sorry, no trick or treat here please'.
"The poster should be displayed in a prominent position either on the door or front window.
"Please consider if any of your neighbours might benefit from a poster too.
"The posters can also be downloaded from our website, where we also have some top safety tips for anyone planning on going trick or treating tonight."
