Railway club enthusiasts build two new layouts as Burbage and district model railway club have been working on local areas to recreate for their monthly meet up hobby.

Member Sonny Hamid said: "The first was the continued work on our project of modelling the Midland and Southwestern Railway’s Savernake High Level Station. Members had been working on constructing some of the buildings that were on the original prototype site. Some of the original buildings are in fact still in existence. The part completed scale model buildings included the water tower, main station building, the signal box and Lord Ailesbury’s Waiting Room. We still require more information on dimensions and any architectural drawings will be of great help to us. If you do have access let us know.

"The second layout worked on was our old favourite Completelypointless which we are proud to say will be displayed at the fund raising event at St Mary’s Church in Great Bedwyn on November 2 between 12 and 4pm. Please do attend and support us at the event. We are also intending to exhibit this layout most probably at the inter-County Exhibition in Fordingbridge next Spring.

The club welcomes new members and any donations, gifts of unwanted model railway items. Their next session will be on November 18 at 7pm. So, if you would like to try your hand at this hobby or have some equipment you are not using, please feel free to call me Sonny Hamid, on 01672 811 933.
