A driver was taken to hospital with head injuries after a road rage attack in Bruce Street.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened at 9pm on Sunday.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was at the wheel of a white Audi estate when he was confronted by the driver of a silver Citroen.
“After an argument over who had right of way on the road, the suspect attacked the victim, knocking him to the floor and leaving him with head injuries that required hospital treatment,” said police.
The attacker drove off towards the Barnfield Industrial Estate.
The victim was taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance.
PC Ben Moore said: “We understand that there were other drivers on the road at the time as well as pedestrians walking by.
“We are appealing to these individuals to come forward, especially if they have dash cam footage from their vehicles which could significantly assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
