AN exhibition from Burbage and District Model Railway Club hopes to encourage young people to take up the hobby. They showed their model railway layout aimed with younger people in mind at the Great Bedwyn Fair, held on Saturday in St Mary's Church.
Member of the club Sonny Hamid said: "The layout was specially designed so that the younger visitors could actually control the movement of trains on the layout, with the intention that this facility would inspire young people to engage in the hobby.
"We were pleased to welcome so many visitors to our layout, many of whom were Dads accompanying their children.Offers of donations were made and this of course was very welcome.
"We hope to be invited again to exhibit another layout at functions in Great Bedwyn or any of the surrounding villages in the future."
