A TEEN killer will be sentenced today for murdering his ex-girlfriend.
Thomas Griffiths launched the frenzied attack on 17-year-old Ellie Gould in May as she studied at home in Calne for her mock exams.
The Wiltshire boy, 17, pleaded guilty in August to killing the talented horse rider, who had dreams of working for the police.
At that hearing in Bristol Judge Peter Blair told Griffiths to expect a lengthy prison sentence: “You know that the sentence is fixed by law and will involve a life sentence.
“The [sentencing] hearing will determine how long it is as a minimum you will be detained in custody before you can be considered for release.”
The judge lifted reporting restrictions preventing Griffiths, of Landsdowne Crescent, Derry Hill, from being identified.
He is expected before Bristol Crown Court this morning.
