BUSY Bee Nursery took its children to Blunsdon to spend time with the elderly patients as Remembrance Sunday approaches.

The tots have been learning about poppies and their meaning following the end of the First World War.

Assistant manager at the nursery in Highdown Way, Rachael Kent said: “It’s so important to teach the children about poppies because it’s all part of our culture.

"They see these poppies in the shops and everywhere else and they have just engaged with it all.”

The folk at Ridgeway enjoyed their visit from the younger generation. In fact they were so delighted they gave them a round of applause.

Activities coordinator Sonja Scott-Watson at the home at Richardson Road: “Our residents were anticipating the visit they were all excited and when the children came through the door they all clapped.
