STILLIA have announced plans to release their long awaited for album, a single in the New Year and a Christmas gig - a year after they called it quits.

The Sutton Indie rockers announced their split in September 2018 after seven years as a band.

The four-piece group, made up of lead singer Jack Bennett, lead guitarist Connor Moran, Johnny Waring on bass guitar and drummer Matty Bennett, made the shock announcement after being a major fixture on the town’s music scene.

However, after reforming for a hometown gig at the Gerard in August, they have come to an agreement with their record label and are "fully back together".

Announcing the news on Facebook, the band said: “We’re starting to get the ball rolling again. It seems as though the spark hasn’t gone out and from all the messages and comments we have got of you all.

“We’re going to do a couple of hometown shows and some regional shows and we are going to release our album that you lot have been waiting for.

“And as a bonus we’re going to be adding some more tracks to it to make it a bit more extra. Let’s see where it goes from there.

“Our first home town show we are going to do is on the December 28, at our old rehearsal space in St Helens, The Parr Conservative Club. There is limited tickets available.

“Our last gig sold the remaining 800 tickets in four days after we was announced so get yours ASAP for this show.

“We’ll let you know how to get tickets In the next few days.”

Speaking to the Star, Jack, 22, added: “After the gig at the Gerard for Violet-Grace’s Gift we had loads of support and it just gave us that push really to sort stuff out.

“We had a really good chat with our record label and sorted stuff out and we are excited to not just be releasing an album next year but also we are working on three more songs to make is a 15 song LP.

“We are buzzing about being officially back together, we had so much support from the beginning and when we announced we were splitting we got even more support from people.

"Not to be funny or anything, but this is what we are good at, we aren't that good at anything else and we love it and so many people love what we do.

"I couldn't even go the pub or to Asda without being asked when we were getting back together.

"Speaking to our label was really good, we ironed some things out and we know what we are doing now which is great.

"It's exciting as well because the album will be released, plus three more tracks, which is exciting for us.

"We are hoping to work with Sugar House as well, make it a real hometown thing, then do local gigs and regional ones too.

"We decided our first official gig back together should be at Parr Conservative Club because that's where we wrote most of the album and we wanted it to be easy for all our fans from home to come and watch us.

"The album should come out next year but I reckon we'll have a single release before then too.

"It's all really exciting."

Stillia will be holding a gig at Parr Conservative Club on December 28 at 7pm.

Tickets are £7 and are available via skiddle.
