A TROWBRIDGE opticians is appealing for gift-filled shoeboxes to help ensure disadvantaged children receive Christmas gifts this year, as part of the Operation Christmas Child appeal.

Members of staff from Specsavers at The Shires Shopping Centre are encouraging locals to take part in the campaign, which is run by the charity, Samaritan’s Purse and donates gifts to underprivileged children around the world during the festive season.

Director Colin Gault said: “Christmas is such an exciting time for so many children. A time to give and receive gifts with loved ones and family members. Unfortunately, it’s not like that for every child around the world.”

Please drop off your filled shoebox before November 18.
