WARMINSTER: A planning application was filed to reduce the width of a hedge by 50 per cent at Bridge House, Tytherington Road, Heytesbury Warminster. Members of the public have been able to have their say on this application on the Wiltshire council. Wiltshire Council have set a target date for a decision as December 25.

Westbury: An application renovate, convert and extend existing farm outbuildings to provide residential houses at Thoulstone Farm, Thoulstone, Chapmanslade, Westbury.The application was registered on November 8 and the public are welcomed to make comment on the Wiltshire Council website until December 13. A set target date for a final decision is January 3 2020. The applicants said the land does not contain any contamination. Materials proposed to be used include facing brickwork, natural stone, cement render, timber cladding, welted metal sheet cladding. Six more car parking spaces are included in the application, meaning there will be a total of 18 spaces available.

Warminster: An application was submitted to shorten vertical branches of a Beech tree in The Old Brewery, Water Street, Mere, Warminster by 3m and lateral branches by 2.5m . Over extended branches of Horse Chestnut tree are proposed to be shorted by 1.5m. Also to crown lift a Lime tree to 1.5m and cut back overhanging branches to give a 2m clearance, and reduce a hedge height to 3.6m. The application was registered on November 8 and a decision is expected to be made by December 20, Members of the public can comment on the application online until December 3. Mere town council will be consulted on the application.

Westbury: An application to convert the Baptist Chapel Building to four two bedroom apartments in Westbury Leigh. The application was filed on November 8 and people have until December 6 to comment online. A decision is expected to be made by Wiltshire Council by January 3. The back of the site which is currently the Sunday School is proposed to be changed into four one bedroom apartments, and the front of the site which is the Chapel is proposed to be turned into a three bedroom house.

Corsham: An application to install a biomass boiler with chimneys at Manor Farm, Wadswick Country Store, Wadswick, Box, Corsham. The application was submitted on November 7 and is open for consultation from the public until December 5. A decision is expected to be made by January 2. The biomass boiler involves heating a building with pellets, with a self-cleaning burner bowl, a large ash box that requires emptying one to three times per year, and automatically cleaned heating surfaces.

Warminster: An application to install 12 solar panels on the garage roof of a listed house in Long Lane End, Stourton Lane, Stourton, Warminster. The application was filed on November 7 and is available for public comments until December 5. A decision is expected to be made by January 2.

Bradford on Avon: An application for an extension to the side of a house in Barton Orchard, Bradford on Avon has been approved with conditions.This will house a kitchen and breakfast area, along with minor internal alterations. The town council posed no objections. Internally, a former doorway between the hall and the living room would be reopened. This is currently simple studwork and could be removed without harm to the historic fabric of the listed building. The existing door would be moved up to the original location. The existing kitchen would be divided by simple stud walls and a glazed wall. This raises no objections as this is a secondary space where the division would not harm the character of the listed building. There would be the small loss of historic fabric in making the new opening, but this is plain rubble stonework and this amount of removal is not considered to harm the historic integrity of the listed building.

Pewsey: An application to install a gate and fencing in Wansdyke House, Wilsford, Pewsey, was approved with conditions. One letter was received raising objections to the original proposal. It would result in no harm to the character of the listed building, being a well-designed and thoughtful execution of a modern design.
