TOWN CENTRE: An Oxford woman has been fined £50 for begging in Swindon town centre.

Jessica Popistica, 24, whose address was given to Salisbury magistrates as of no fixed abode in Oxford, admitted placing herself in The Parade underpass to beg or gather alms.

She was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge, deemed paid by time served.

GRANGE PARK: Lee Sedgelov, 40, of Holbein Close, will stand trial for the alleged attempted theft of a vacuum cleaner and food preparation machine worth £168.80 from Tesco.

He was bailed for the trial at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on December 30. Under his bail conditions he must live and sleep at his home address.

TOWN CENTRE: Luke Pennington, 28, of Milton Road, admitted drug-driving when he appeared before Salisbury magistrates.

He was behind the wheel of a VW Golf on London Road, Chippenham, on January 12, when he was found to have seven microgrammes of cannabis product tetrahydrocannabinol in his system. The legal limit is two microgrammes.

WILTSHIRE: An Oxford trainee probation officer will be sentenced next week for using his position to defraud the National Probation Service £5,040.26.

Martins Orobato, 29, of Riverside Wharf, Dartford, was working as a trainee probation officer in Oxfordshire between June 1, 2016, and January 31, 2019, when he committed the fraud by abuse of position.

He admitted the charge when he appeared before Salisbury magistrates. He was bailed to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on November 22 for sentence.

CHISELDON: Josh Reason, 22, of Windmill Piece, admitted failing without reasonable excuse to attend six unpaid work sessions with the probation service.

He was jailed for 10 weeks after being resentenced for the assailt and criminal damage matters for which he had previously been given a community order. Reason was described as having shown a flagrant disregard for court orders.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Wiltshire Police have been given a further six months to keep £1,500 cash seized from Pellumb Muca, of Keats Close, on October 18.

Police believe the cash was property obtained through crime or it is intended to fund crime.

PURTON: David Nurdin, 35, of Mill View, Purton, has been jailed for 24 weeks after he admitted threatening to release a private sexual video of a woman, assaulted her, damaged her blue Honda car and threatened to destroy a family member’s property.

Magistrates made a five-year restraining order banning her from contacting three women. He must also pay a £122 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

MOREDON: Tristan Ainsley, 25, of Akers Way, admitted failing to attend two probation appointments as directed. Magistrates marked the breach with an extra 14 hours of unpaid work and ordered he pay £60 costs.

HAYDON WICK: Michael Basson, 38, of Brookdean Road, was fined £150 for not attending an induction appointment and unpaid work session as ordered to by the probation service.

Basson admitted the breach and was ordered to pay £60 costs.

WALCOT: Patrick Connors, 38, of Somerville Road, must do an extra four rehabilitation activity days after he admitted breaching his community order by failing to attend appointments.

He must pay £60 costs to the probation service.

SWINDON: Steed Howells, 29, of Briarswood Court, breached his curfew. He must do 10 rehabilitation days after he admitted breaching the terms of a community order made by Swindon magistrates. No award was made for costs.

BROADGREEN: Gerard Mir, 43, of Broad Street, was jailed for two months for what magistrates described as wilful and persistent failure to comply with the requirements of a community order. He admitted a third breach of the order.

M4: David Bell, 47, of Mary Street, Cardiff, was fined £438 and given six points on his licence after he admitted speeding on the M4 near Swindon. Bell must pay a £43 surcharge and £85 costs.
