M4: Gary Mahon, 25, of Upper Lambourn, was fined £406 for speeding on the M4 at Brinkworth. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points and he was ordered to pay £125 in costs and surcharge.

SWINDON: Daniel Williams, 24, of Haywain Close, was fined £770 and banned from driving for six months for driving an Audi A4 without insurance on Great Western Way on May 25.

The case was proved via the single justice procedure. He must pay £85 costs and a £77 victim surcharge.

SWINDON: James Marshman, 31, of Avenue Road, was fined £220 for being the person in whose name a vehicle was registered when it did not meet insurance requirements.

The case was proved in Marshman’s absence.

He was ordered to pay £110 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

PINEHURST: Daniel Moore, 33, of The Bungalows, was found guilty of assaulting PC Gareth Ivett on July 20.

He was given a 12 month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work. Moore must pay £250 costs, a 90 victim surcharge and £20 compensation to the officer.

Moore must also carry our up to 20 rehabilitation activity days.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: David Jack, 33, of Garraways, will face a Swindon judge over accusations he set a fire on Eddleston Road, near Ocotal Way.

Appearing before Swindon magistrates, Jack entered no pleas to charges that he committed arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered and possession of an offensive weapon – namely an ice axe - in a public place.

He was bailed to appear before Swindon Crown Court on November 22 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

SWINDON: Alisdair McKee, 43, of Rowington, Warwickshire, was fined £120 and banned from driving for two years for failing to provide a specimen of breath.

He pleaded guilty to that charge and possession of cannabis, for which he was fined £80.

Swindon magistrates dealt with another set of driving misdemeanours related to an incident in Bristol on November 25, 2018, that had been due to be heard by Bristol magistrates.

McKee admitted drink-driving on the M32 on that date and driving the Renault Clio without insurance or a valid MOT.

Breathalyser tests on that occasion found he had 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35mg.

TOWN CENTRE: Eduardo Decastro, 31, of Whitehead Street, admitted being drunk behind the wheel of a Ford Transit van on Curtis Street on October 18.

He was fined £350 and banned from driving for 14 months. Decastro must pay £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

SWINDON: A serial shoplifter has swerved jail – but been banned from almost every single shop in the country for the next year.

Beau Houghton, 42, of Haydon Court, stole boys clothing from Matalan, Blu Ray discs and DVDs from HMV, CDs from Boots and a 32 inch TV from Tesco in Cirencester.

Houghton admitted theft.

He was sentenced to the 18-month suspended sentence order, with a requirement to complete a six month drug rehabilitation programme.

He has been banned from every shop in the country except for the Carfax Street pharmacy, Ocotal Way Tesco, Esso petrol station in Royal Wootton Bassett and shops or kiosks at Great Western Hospital.

Houghton was ordered to pay £504 in compensation and victim surcharge.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Danny Cooper, 24, of Sambourne Road, Malmesbury, admitted driving a Ford Tipper on Swindon Road, Royal Wootton Bassett, without insurance. He was fined £250, banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay £115 in costs and surcharge.

PARK SOUTH: Shane Hibbert, 30, of Cranmore Avenue, has been banned from the roads for six months for using his mobile phone while driving a Ford Transit on Mead Way on May 21.

The charge was proved by magistrates under the single justice procedure. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and surcharge.
